General information
      Higher School of Management and Business of the South Kazakhstan University. M. Auezov is the main supplier of economical personnel, the release of which has been conducted since the beginning of the sixties. This is one of the flagships of economic education, which has a consistently high reputation and rating in the educational market. Starting from September 1, 2017, the faculty was transformed into the higher school of "Management and Business".
        Mission
        The primary goal of the higher school is the qualitative training of specialists, which will be in demand today in the labor market.
        Programs
       Personnel training is conducted in the direction of social sciences and business on 8 educational programs of the bachelor's degree and 6 educational programs of the magistracy. Training is conducted in 3 languages: Kazakh, Russian, English.
       Our students
       Currently, the higher school of "Management and Business" provides all areas of the economy of the region with personnel in the economic profile.
    Every year, a growing contingent of students of higher education in all forms of education, which are provided by a fund of educational and methodical literature, computer classes and software, a sufficient auditorium, sports halls, stadiums and swimming pools.
     For the advanced part of the student youth of our higher school, groups with teaching of a number of disciplines of the curriculum in English are opened, where teachers with a good language base, trained in special language courses, and also in the linguistic center of the university are conducting classes.
     In the higher school there are permanent creative collectives of various orientations: choreographic ensembles, KVN, students are members of the debating club "Akikat", there are 6 scientific circles, the sports team of the higher school is the repeated winner of many student sports days.

Place of employment: managers of enterprises, managers, sales and trading, advertising of industrial enterprises and organizations in all spheres of economic and non-productive sphere, state authorities; educational organization (school, colleges) and research institutes.

The scope and content of professional work: specialists can perform functions such as bookkeeping and making finance reporting of the consolidated financial statements, tax reporting and filling in tax declarations, collecting records and statistical information, data processing and preparation of its leaders to use for making management decision, investors, creditors, external and internal users, analysis and evaluation of alternative solutions to pricing, methods of production, investment, management and control of enterprises in general, checking compliance with the accounting legislation, regulations, and providing advisory services (audit and consulting activities).
Places of employment: graduates can work as a specialist, an accountant at the enterprises and organizations, an economist on the methodology of accounting and auditing work, the auditor (assistant auditor), researcher in the field of accounting and reporting, economic control and audit at the Research Institute, a teacher at universities , secondary education professors.

The scope and content of professional activities: Bachelor of Finance engaged in the management and organization of finance, the conduct of monetary and fiscal policies at the micro and macro levels. Bachelors in this profile should analyze the financial condition of the company, help to increase revenue, minimize cost and risk, satisfying must satisfy the market needs to provide quality financial services. The functions of the specialist of this profile include collecting and reporting statistical information, data processing and preparation its leaders to use for making management decisions , investors, creditors, external and internal users, analysis and evaluation of alternative financing solutions, lending, borrowing, pricing, investment, production techniques, management and control of financial and financial-economic activities of enterprises and institutions of public and private sectors of the economy as a whole, checking compliance with the organization and management of financial and credit relations legislative and normative acts, as well as providing consultation services, development of regulations governing financial relations between economic agents.
Places of employment: graduates can work as a financier in the banking sphere, in financial institutions, the Ministry of Finance, insurance institutions, the Office of Economy and Budget Planning, Bank of Kazakhstan, in the financial market and financial organizations in the securities market.

The Department of Finance and Credit was established on August 26, 1996. Subsequently, the department was divided into two independent departments "Taxes and taxation" and "Banking." But since August 2014, the departments have reunited as the Department of Finance.

At different times, the departments were headed by c.e.s., Sh.B Professor Bekibaeva., Doctor of Economics, Professor S.Zh. Zhakipbekov, c.e.s., docent Z.A. Bigeldieva Since February 2018, the department has been headed by c.e.s., docent  A.N.Aitymbetova.

An experienced faculty is working at the department, including 1 doctor of economics, professors, 10 candidates of economics, 3 doctors of PhD, 8 masters with a long experience in teaching and practical activity.

The department is graduating, which trains specialists for work in banking, tax systems, insurance companies and various organizations of the financial sector of the country's economy.

During this time, more than 4,000 specialists were trained in the specialty, who, after graduation, successfully works in various sectors of the economy.

Bachelor program 

The department is preparing for educational programs of undergraduate programs in the specialty 5B050900 - Finance and since 2019 on the educational program 6B04140 - Finance.

The validity of training specialists in the educational program is related to the needs of Shymkent, the Southern region and the Republic for qualified leading, scientific and pedagogical personnel in the financial sector, with in-depth theoretical and practical training, with a high level of professional culture, including a culture of professional communication, having civic position, able to formulate and practically solve modern problems in the field of finance, to carry out production, managerial, scientific and pedagogical activities.

At present, the educational program is provided by a highly qualified faculty of the department with a basic education, represented by 1 Doctor of Economics, 10 Candidates of economics, 3 Doctors PhD, 8 Masters. As a result, the total number of full-time teachers serving the program in all disciplines is 24 people, of which 15 have a doctorate and a candidate of science, i.e. 58.3%. Scientific achievements of the teaching staff of the department: 8 monographs, 221 articles, 52 of them - in foreign publications, 8 - in a journal with impact factor, 42 acts of introducing research results into the educational process, 60 - into production, 1 funded research grant.

The preparation of bachelors in the specialties 5B050900 - “Finance” and 6B04140 - “Finance” is based on the national result-oriented education model. It involves the training of a specialist in a new formation, owning multiculturalism, communicative skills, capable of creatively and highly professionally solving socially significant problems in the financial and economic sphere at the modern scientific and practical level.

The aim of the program is to complete the fundamental preparation of bachelors aimed at a high-quality level of education, which allows them to be in demand in the practical activities of financial bodies, banking and non-bank credit institutions, insurance, pension, investment and other companies, financial bodies of business entities, competitive in the labor market. And also, training of specialists fluent in the state and one foreign language, demonstrating the skills of conceptual, analytical and logical thinking, a creative approach to work and study, able to work in a national and international team, mastering a lifelong learning strategy. In addition, the educational program is aimed at preparing a bachelor of professional activities related to the financial and economic activities of organizations, organization of financial accounting at the enterprise, primary accounting documents; modern methods of financial planning and forecasting the financial activities of enterprises; preparation of bachelors who possess fundamental theoretical principles of the functioning of the financial system of the Republic of Kazakhstan and enterprises, business organization, theory and practice of finance, management of enterprise financial flows based on automated systems, information technologies and information systems in the activities of enterprises.

Training in the educational program is based on a fundamentally new approach to working in modern conditions, providing training for universal financial specialists.

The undergraduate education program has components for preparing for professional activities, developing key qualifications, intellectual and academic skills, and in particular.

Scientific and methodical work of the department

Teachers of the department are actively involved in scientific research. Over the years, work was done to increase the degree of the department. In 2017, the senior lecturer of the department B.S.Kulbai successfully defended his thesis for the degree of PhD, in 2018, the senior teacher of the department D.S. Zhakipbekova PhD awarded. Also in 2018, c.e.s. G.K.  Issayeva awarded the academic title of Associate Professor (docent) MES RK, as well as the title of winner of the MES RK contest "Best Teacher" in 2018.

Over the past 3 years, more than 150 articles have been published in various scientific and practical journals, including: highly rated international journals included in the SCOPUS, Thomson Reuters, RSCI databases, journals recommended by MES RK, etc. Over the past three years, the teaching staff of the department Over 20 textbooks and 10 monographs in the state, Russian and English languages have been published and are used in the educational process.

Four faculty members have an h-index 1.

Teaching staff carry out scientific activities in conjunction with students and undergraduates, speaking at conferences at various levels and publishing research results in publications of the national and international levels. Also, the scientific community “Karjyger” is constantly working at the department, where students are engaged in scientific research under the supervision of the teaching staff of the department. Students are actively involved in research activities, which is reflected in the annual increase in the coverage of research departments of the department.

In the academic year 2018-2019, the Department of Finance was recognized as the best department of M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University.

Student’s life

For the formation of students' personal qualities such as patriotism, love of the motherland, a broad worldview, determination and an active life position at the faculty and university level, various public circles work. Also at the level of the department, the scientific community “Karjyger” was organized. These circles and communities contribute to the formation and development of students as individuals, developing such qualities as sociability, activity, determination, patriotism.

Students actively participate in university, city, republican competitions, olympiads, competitions and conferences of the republican and international level.

In all academic groups, work is carried out in the following areas: civic-patriotic education; intellectual and cultural development; the formation of a spiritual and moral culture, the formation of tolerance and interethnic harmony; participation in sporting events.

In order to increase patriotic education, a healthy lifestyle, the President’s Addresses to the people of Kazakhstan, the program “Bolashak Badar: Ruhani Zhangyru”, “Strategy of Kazakhstan - 2050”, etc. are discussed at curatorial hours and round tables.

Social communication

Due to the high level of development of social networks, the teaching staff of the department conducts active social work with students. Students themselves are involved in various educational, charitable activities. Such an active position in the Internet space allowed both teachers and students to positively conduct joint educational activities during an emergency related to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the year of the 175th anniversary of the great Kazakh enlightener Abai, teachers and students of EP 6B04140 - “Finances” released numerous and interesting videos dedicated to the work of the great akyn, curated hours were held. International and employer cooperation

In terms of external relations of academic mobility, the interaction with employers is the activity of teaching staff studying this educational program at the proper level.

Classes are conducted by invited foreign lecturers, the external academic mobility of the teaching staff of the EP is increasing. So, as an invited foreign lecturer through the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 11/9/2020 to 11/12/2020 for master students of the EP "Finance" he lectured and conducted seminars, scientific consultations, master classes Filin S.A., Doctor of Economics, Professor Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Moscow, Russian Federation.

                                                        

According to the international program "Bolashak", the direction of study is magistracy, candidate of economic sciences, associate professor of the department "Finance" Isaeva Gulmira Kuzdeualievna in the period from 11.01.2021-31.01.2022. is studying at the University of Leeds, UK (ranked 91st in the QS World University).

                                                       

 

During the two training years 2017-2018, 2018-2019. Dr. PhD, professor at Iasi Alexandra Cuza University Ihnatov Iulian (Romania, Iasi), as part of the Erasmus programs, and international exchange through the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, gave lectures for students of the department.Close partnerships have been established between the two departments of universities.

The teaching staff of the department periodically improves their skills abroad. C.e.s., associate professor (docent) G.K. Issayeva, made trips to the city of Hyderabad (India), is the holder of a grant from the Bolashak state scholarship to study in the UK. Candidate of Economics, docent A.N. The staff of the department collaborates with strategic employers of the financial sector: the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the second-tier banks of Kazakhstan, the KASE Stock Exchange, the State Revenue Departments, AIFC (Astana International Financial Center), etc.

As part of the agreements, on-site lectures, consultations by employers, competitive test selection of graduate students for vacant posts, practical seminars for students, the release of joint articles in the media and teaching materials are carried out.
